“Why Ab Exercises Won’t Get Rid Of Your ‘Belly’ And What To Do Instead”
Do you want to get rid of your belly fat?
That’s one of the most common questions I get. How do I get rid of this belly!? Usually followed by grabbing their stomach and looking depressed.
Let’s face it, having a flat belly is the go to thing. Maybe not exactly rock hard abs (unless of course you want that), but that washboard, flat and ‘toned’ look. I get how you feel, it makes everything easier.
Now, there is loads of information out there.
I can’t count how many times I’ve seen posts on getting ‘a flat tummy’ followed by a boatload of followers, likes and shares. So if you’re reading this I’m guessing you’re interested too.
Why doing every exercise you can think of won’t give you a flat belly
What am I talking about?
Well, I’m afraid you could do 1000 crunches a day and never see anything.
Well, what you’re trying to do is something that we call in the industry: Spot training/Spot reduction. That’s the idea that doing a specific exercise or training a specific areas will reduce the fat and ‘tone’ that area. Problem is, it doesn’t work. Some blood flow is increased to that area but unfortunately, it’s negligible.
So doing a bunch of ab exercises is never going to sort out that problem. The ads and promises you see out there on social media and google are just giving you false hope.
Not all hope is lost though!
You can get the flat stomach you’ve always wanted DESPITE thinking you can’t.
Doing this will get you results FASTER than ever before
What is the ‘secret’ then?
It’s probably something you’re not going to like but after this article you’ll know exactly how to do it and that is Diet.
Yes, yes, I know. You probably eat really healthy at the moment and you ‘watch what you eat’ but there is something else you need to pay attention to and that is HOW MUCH YOU EAT.
See the belly fat will only come off when you lose weight. Regardless of if you want to tone that area up. If you can’t see any abs then you have too much fat and you need to lose it to see that stomach. The only way to do this is to eat less calories than you are burning.
Track your diet every day. There are apps you can download for your phone to help you do this << I like to use MyFitnessPal, it’s easy and quick but you can use whatever you like.
Do this everyday to transform your body
Then you need to consistently track it every day.
Do that sounds ‘obsessive’ to you? If it does then all I ask is think how long you’ve been wanting to get a flat stomach for? Or even do you visit your social media page every day? Like your Facebook? if you do then it’s just the same. It’s just changing your outlook. It takes 5 minutes a day to record what you’ve eaten and make sure you stay within in your limits
Then boom, your body will start to reduce that belly and you’ll FINALLY start to get somewhere.
It doesn’t mean that you can’t carry on doing exercises though. As ab exercises DO develop your muscles, they just won’t get rid of the belly. You need to focus on the diet at the same time and stop searching for the ONE exercise that will give you a flat stomach.
It doesn’t exist.
So start NOW, work out the calories you need and what food you need to eat to get the results and keep working at it EVERY DAY
